(This post is part of my Onwards and Upwards Blog Event)
It’s time for you to get some inspiration from not only me, but some of my lovely blogging friends!
They’ve all got an Onwards and Upwards themed post for you, and I can’t wait to see what they’ve all written/created! If you hop all the way around, commenting as you go, then you will be in with a chance to win this cheerful prize pack {NOW CLOSED}:
Which includes Simple Stories 24/7 and Glitz Design Color Me Happy items, and is worth over £25!
To enter you just need to leave a comment on each blog in the hop, and then come back and let me know here that you’ve been all the way around. Don’t forget to leave me a way to contact you if you win (or really, really make sure you check back!). The giveaway {NOW CLOSED} is open internationally, and will close at 10.59pm BST on Monday 13th May 2013. The winner will be announced on Thursday the 16th of May.
Here’s a layout I created to show you for the hop…
Wear Pretty Skirts:
I own a lot of pretty skirts. Towards the end of last year I realised I hadn’t been wearing them as much day-to-day as I used to. Having to get up early for the school run meant I kept just pulling on my jeans instead! But I love my skirts, and I feel so much happier when I’m wearing them. It makes me feel prettier, and more arty and fun! So I’ve made a concious effort to wear them more – to do the school run, to the beach, to the supermarket. Don’t shut pretty clothes away in a cupboard!
The title ‘Wear Pretty Skirts’ is quite small compared to the ‘daring adventure’ words below. So to keep it prominent I layered it onto this what-not frame, which is attached to the layout with pop-dots. The giant ‘hello there’ rhinestone draws your eye to the title, and so does the arrow pointing through ‘today is your day’. The heart is a negative cut that was left over from another project you’re going to see this weekend – see if you spot the woodgrain heart on something else later!
I loved the paper which had the ‘daring adventure’ words on it, but I cut them out so they fitted better with my other elements:
I love this rainbow chevron washi too. There’s something about rainbow colours, like pretty skirts, that just makes me feel happy!
Be Inspired:
Use some rainbow colours on your next project
Fill a negative shape with words
Use 3 small square photos on a page
Do you have items of clothing or accessories that make you feel more positive when you wear them? Do you wear them often enough? If not, why not? Go put it on now! Feel uplifted!
Now it’s time for me to send you to the next stop in the hop… the wonderful Rinda at Gallo Organico!

Wow I so love this layout. I love the pictures, colours and all the amazing details. I too have some pretty skirts which I wear rarely so maybe I should get out there in them too. I used quite bright colours on the hop so does that count?

I’ve really enjoyed the hop……it’s been great seeing how everyone has interpreted ‘onwards and upwards’…..and we’ve ended up with such a variety of themes. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of it.
