A Challenge to go Up, Up, Up!

(This post is part of my Onwards and Upwards Blog Event)

It’s time for another challenge! This time I challenge you to make a project that goes up, up, up!

This can be interpreted lots of ways, and I’ll give you some ideas for it at the end of the post. But first I want to show you the prize you could win, and then a layout for some inspiration!

If you enter this challenge you might win this prize:

Lucky Charm Challenge Prize at Jennifer Grace Creates

A Lucky Charm 6×6 Pad and Stamp Set!

Here’s my layout that goes up, up, up…

Hello Darling Mountain Climber:

Hello Darling Mountain Climber layout by Jennifer Grace

Can you see how it goes UP? One way is in the photo and story – my son learning to crawl up some steps to get to the top of a slide. Another way is that the patterns are denser and darker at the bottom, and lighter at the top, so you eye travels up to the top, like on the sunrise layout this morning.

But the fun way it goes up is something you can’t really see in the above picture… the strips at the bottom of the page are raised up like steps! Here they are viewed from above:

I just added them with foam pop-dots and tape, building each strip up an extra level:

It’s a fun detail on the layout that helps enhance the climbing theme!

Now it’s your turn! Here’s some ways to interpret the challenge, pick one of these or interpret it your own way:

Be Inspired

Use a photo/story with an ‘up’ theme eg. hot air balloons, planes, clouds, climbing, mountains, growing taller, feeling more up-beat

Use the word ‘up’ somewhere on your page

Build up lots of layers or steps

Use an ombre or dense-to-light effect going up the page / project

Point some chevrons or arrows upwards on your project

To enter this challenge: Make something that goes up, up, up! Then blog about it or upload it to an online gallery – a link back to here is appreciated if possible. Then come here and add your project to the Linky Tool below! You can enter this challenge as many times as you like, and you can combine it with other challenges (either mine or other online challenges). The project must be newly made (as long as it was made after 4pm Friday 10th May you can enter it).

The challenge will close next Sunday 19th May at 10.59pm BST (NOW SLIGHTLY EXTENDED TO 05.59am BST on Monday 20th May). It is open internationally.

Finally, don’t forget that commenting on this post, and any other over this weekend, will count as an entry into the Grand Giveaway, but only if you’ve registered your interest in winning that prize right HERE.

I’ll be back again in one hour! x

  1. Such a fun page Jennifer – I’m itching to have a go at the challenge as I have some hot air balloon stamps and a couple of ideas brewing already … hope to get some scrapping time in tomorrow :o)

  2. That is such a simple but dead clever idea Jennifer. I am now wracking my brains for a photograph that isn’t balloons or mountains as I’ve done those for other challenges. Maybe a swing is somewhere,
