Here’s my project for the hop:

Do you like the waterfall effect on the left? I had sooooo much fun making it:

Here’s how I made the waterfall…

Layer 1: I tipped some Heidi Swapp Seafoam Color Shine Mist onto a plate:

And then used a paintbrush to dribble it at the top of a sheet of white cardstock, tipping the cardstock so it ran down the page:

Then, still holding the cardstock upright, I flicked the loaded paintbrush towards it, to make some splatters (make sure your work area is protected!):

Layer 2: Once the Seafoam Mist was dry I repeated the above steps with Mister Huey Clay Mist:

Layer 3: When all the mist was dry, I used my sewing machine to stitch some wavy lines on top:

Layer 4: I used a swirly stamp and Studio Calico Mint Hint Ink to stamp some random swirls on top:

Layer 5: I finished it off with sequins, gems, white liquid pearls, enamel dots, and some blobs of glossy accents:

Then I raided my stash for embellishments that matched the colour of the waterfall:

Be Inspired:

Make a waterfall / river / sea with mixed-media layers

Create a monotone project

Stitch some wavy lines

What do you think, does it all look suitably watery?!

Now it’s time to send you on to the next stop in the hop, the lovely Annie!

Here’s the full list in case you get lost on the way:

  2. Beautiful project! I just made a monotone graduation card. I’m trying to use each inspiration on a card this weekend, as I have a bunch of graduation and birthday cards to make.
Will there be challenges this weekend where we post what we made with the inspirations?
