Frosty Festivities Christmas & Winter

Jazzing Up Old Stash For Christmas Cards (+Giveaway! {NOW CLOSED})

(This post is part of my Frosty Festivities 2014 Blog Event – see the beginning HERE!)

I always like to do an ‘old stash’ giveaway as part of my blog events. Most of the stash in this giveaway {NOW CLOSED} is from Christmas 2013 so it’s not too old!

Would you like to win this ‘kit’ of old stash?

Old Stash Giveaway at Jennifer Grace Creates

There’s lots of bits and pieces here, including some 6×12″ papers, 3×4 cards, ephemera, stickers, chipboards, a tree wood veneer, a sheet of wood-effect alpha stickers, a washi sampler on a craft stick, and some white buttons. Plenty for a couple of layouts or some cards!

If you want to enter all you need to do is leave a comment on this post! If you want to leave a comment but don’t want to be entered, just mention that in the comment!

And here’s some inspiration for how to use up some older stash on some cards…

All these were made with items from my left over 2013 Christmas stash.

First I chose a few large stickers I thought would be good:

Then I chose a few paper scraps to go with them:

And I picked out a couple of chipboards and ephemera too:

To jazz-up the stickers I rubbed some clear ink around the edges of the stickers, tipped on glitter gold embossing powder, and heated it up:

And I added some Waco Pearl Pen dots to some of the ephemera or chipboard:

The papers were stuck on some 6×6 kraft card blanks, white plain white card used as a ‘filler’ where the scraps weren’t big enough:

And then I stuck the main pieces I’d chosen on top, plus a bit of gold glitter tape on the red card:

They were all finished off with a few gems of course:

I’m glad to have use up some old stash!

Heat emboss the edge of stickers, or paper, die-cuts, etc

  1. These cards are lovely. I would like more chipboard in my stash. For now, I create my own by gluing together 3 or 4 of the same die cut to achieve the dimension.

  5. I love old stash because it can benew again used differently or revamped! There is always a use in card candy atcs mixed media and especially shabby chic or vintage.Sometimes when we bring old items back out after awhile we see them in a new light or can repurpose them to something unique! What is one persons vintage may be anothers treasure! Enjoyed your blog and hop.
