Frosty Festivities Christmas & Winter

A Challenge – To Be Inspired! {NOW CLOSED}

(This post is part of my Frosty Festivities 2015 Blog Event – see a list of all the posts HERE)

It’s time for the Challenge To Be Inspired! {NOW CLOSED}

The Challenge To Be Inspired Prize for the Focus Your Craft & Soul event at Jennifer Grace Creates

This is where you can come to link up any projects you make, or activities you do, which are inspired by this Frosty Festivities 2015 event!

You can use the ‘Be Inspired’ section at the bottom of each project post to give you ideas, but you don’t have to – if you inspired in a different way then that’s fine too – scraplift a layout, take a colour scheme that I’ve used, copy a technique, just try to emulate my style on something… really the possibilities are endless for how you can be inspired, just go and play with your crafty supplies! You can also use inspiration from the blog hop after that takes place on Sunday the 15th of November!

To tempt you to ‘Be Inspired’ and join in, here’s one of the prizes up for grabs…

Frosty Festivites 2015 Challenge To Be Inspired Prize

It includes a Heidi Swapp Favourite Things 6 x 8″ Chipboard Album, plus some wide ribbons, a selection of 6 x 6″ papers, and some other festive crafting bits and pieces!

The above prize will be sent to one person drawn at random from all the entries.

I’m also going to give a £15 Etsy Gift Card to someone that catches my eye with a really exciting project or with the enthusiasm of their participation!

There's a £15 Etsy Gift Card for one 'Be Inspired' challenge participant too!

The gift card (email code) the winner receives can be spent in any Etsy shop which accepts gift cards.

To enter the challenge {NOW CLOSED}:

Post your project on your blog / online gallery, mentioning Frosty Festivites 2015 in your description (a backlink to the post that inspired you is appreciated but not required), and then come back here to add it! Make sure you add the URL of the actual project, not just a general gallery or blog link. You can add more than one project to a blog post and then add it to the linky several times to give you extra entries into the draw. You can enter AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WISH! You are welcome to combine with other online challenges too. If it’s not obvious where you used inspiration from my event on your project then make sure you describe it somewhere in your image description or blog post!

I will be pinning all the entries to the ‘Inspired By Jennifer Grace Creates’ Pinterest Board, and I will also come and leave a comment on any entries which I can (I can’t sign up to every online gallery, so I may not be able to comment on all. I have accounts with Flickr, Scrapbook.com, UKS, Big Picture Classes, and Studio Calico, so if your projects are on there I will be able to comment).

The challenge linky closes at 10pm GMT on Sunday the 6th of December 2015. {NOW CLOSED} It is open internationally. If you have any questions about this or anything else, you can email me at jennifergrace@hotmail.co.uk.

To give you another piece of inspiration today I created this card, with colourful Christmas trees creating a frame:

Peace On Earth Colourful Trees Christmas Card by Jennifer Grace Creates

My rainbow coloured Christmas card from last year’s Frosty Festivites (you can see that HERE) was one of my favourites, so I used that as a starting point. I really enjoyed stamping all these little trees to make a bright and cheerful frame!

The tree in the middle is gold embossed so it’s lovely and shiny:

The colourful trees stamped around as a frame are not perfectly spaced. You could measure your stamp and space it out carefully but I just went with the wing-it-and-hope-it-works approach, by stamping one colour at a time wherever I felt like stamping on the card:

It meant some trees are squished together and some have bigger gaps between them, but it doesn’t notice too much on the finished card, as your eyes are more drawn to the gold feature tree and the sentiment in the center.

The little tree I used is from the Lawn Fawn ‘Ready, Set, Snow’ stamp set, and the large tree and the sentiment in the center are from the Hero Arts Clearly Kelly ‘Noel’ stamp set.

Be Inspired:

Stamp a frame around the edge of a piece of card

Add a gold element in or near the center of a project

Make a line of rainbow coloured Christmas trees

Remember you can use these ideas for your project, but you don’t have to – you can also link up anything inspired by any Frosty Festivities 2015 post!

I can’t wait to see all your projects!

Remember that commenting on this post, and any post during November 2015, will count as another entry into the Grand Giveaway {NOW CLOSED}, but only if you’ve registered your interest in winning that prize right HERE!

I’ll be back tomorrow morning (8am GMT) with the next blog post.

  1. Really like the idea of neon with the gold. Sweet little trees and the repetition of the image both in the frame and the centre creates a big impact with a relatively simple to make card. Such a great, great card! Love it.

  2. Love your card-I like cards that use non-traditional holiday colors because red, white and green can get boring at times!

  3. I am always wondering how to use those tiny stamps that come in different sets and this is such a fun and clever idea! Thanks for sharing with us. I hope to get started on some holiday cards early for a change and your Frosty Festivities will motivate me!

  5. Really pretty and fun card. I like how the gold still makes it seem Christmasy, but the rainbow colors add such a festive party look!
I liked how my rainbow card turned out last year. It was fun to try something so different from my usual Christmas style.

  6. I like the colours you’ve used – traditional but not slavishly so. Tried the idea of a stamped border on a scrapbook page and it turned out well; thanks for the inspiration!

  7. I’m having trouble linking up my latest project. Not sure what the problem is, but I have tried three times without visible success. Probably later, there will be 3 identical entries from me…… (sigh).

    1. Hello Janis, I think there was a problem with linky tools that day as I tried to log on to add your link myself but it kept kicking me out. It looks like you got it sorted in the end, thank you for persevering! x
