Speedy Christmas Crafting Using A Recipe!

We’re just over half-way through the month, and therefore half-way through Frosty Festivities 2015, so today I thought I’d share something to help you do some Speedy Christmas Crafting by using a recipe!

I made two Christmas cards and one winter-themed PL (pocket scrapbooking) card in about 45 minutes – very quick for me! Having a recipe makes it so much easier to pull out supplies – by limiting my choice I don’t spend ages dithering over what to use or rummaging through my stash, like I normally do in case I can find something more ‘perfect’!

If you’d like to set yourself this as a challenge you could use the recipe I picked, or you could make one up of your own – just pick a handful of types of item and write them down so you stick to them! Here’s my recipe:

Twine
Buttons
Paper Scraps
Ephemera
Word Stamps

You could apply this recipe to all kind of projects! You can also add plain card and card blanks, and ink pads, adhesive, etc (plus photos and journaling if you are scrapbooking) – all those crafty basics. Just try not to add any extra embellishments or fiddly techniques which would take up your time!

Here’s the items I pulled together to choose from:

It was mostly old stash from the last few years, except I included some new My Mind’s Eye Christmas On Market Street Ephemera because I like them so much!

First I chose a couple of card blanks, and cut a paper scrap down to 3×4″ for my PL card. Then I added more paper scraps on top of these:

Next was the twine, twirled into a twisty shape and stuck on with Glossy Accents on the cards, and wrapped around the PL card and attached with staples:

I played around with the ephemera until I found a few I liked, and stuck them on, either adhered flat or using foam dots to make them stand out:

Then they were finished off with the stamped words – all stamped with grey ink onto white card to keep it quick and easy – plus a few buttons:

Ready to give to family and friends or use on a PL layout or scrapbook page!
