Our Florida Holiday & A Crafty Giveaway – Edited To Add Winner

Hello. Today I want to tell you about the vacation we took to Florida during August, and I also have a crafty giveaway of some items I purchased in Target, Michaels, & Jo-Ann’s while I was there!

Our Florida Holiday & A Crafty Giveaway!

We are so lucky that my lovely in-laws asked us to go to Florida with them. They have visited the Summer Bay Resort many times and this year they asked us along to enjoy Orlando and the theme parks!

It wasn’t mine or hubby’s first times out there, as we’d both been before. But it was the kid’s first time. They had been to Disney Land in Paris, but Cheeky Boy was only 1 at the time so he doesn’t remember Paris at all. Little Miss had a couple of memories, like being scared on Big Thunder Mountain, but she was only 4 so again she couldn’t remember much.

They were both super excited about the holiday, and it certainly matched their expectations, and more! We had a wonderful time. And though it was baking hot – I mean really super hot for us English fragile beings (100 degrees F / 37.7 degrees C on some days) – we manage to stay cool a lot of the time by picking the right times to watch shows or sit in queues. Plus it rained on a few days, which cleared the air but didn’t last so long that it spoiled the day.

Here we all are on our way into the Animal Kingdom:

Our Florida Holiday & A Crafty Giveaway!

The kids loved the Safari ride here, which we went on twice and saw different animals both times. I enjoyed the Expedition Everest ride which was new for me, and hubby just about stomached it (he doesn’t like roller coasters that much).

One of the best things about Disneyworld is the little extras that kids can do for free – at Animal Kingdom it’s collecting stickers to become ‘Wilderness Explorers’ (you do a variety of things like play music, find out animal facts, and learn about other cultures), at Epcot it’s collecting stamps from each country on a Barney Bear picture (which you can also colour in on your way around), and at the Magic Kingdom there’s both the ‘Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Challenge’ (using picture cards to cast spells at magic portals throughout the park), and the ‘Pirates Adventure – Treasure of The Seven Seas’ (using a treasure map to find marked spots in Adventure land, where things come to life and the clues lead you to treasure at the end – you keep the map and the treasure card). These were all fun and we could have done lots more if we’d had longer – there were more Sorcery Cards and more Treasure Maps which we didn’t have time for. These extras are not advertised very much so make sure to look out for them if you go there.

My favourite place to go was Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. I have been dying to go here since it opened. My friend Rosie and I actually planned out our own Harry Potter World on a long bus journey once when we were at Uni together, then when the park opened years later we wondered if some Universal Studios bigwig must have been sitting behind us on the bus?!

Our Florida Holiday & A Crafty Giveaway!

I’d made shirts for us four to wear to Harry Potter World using my Cricut Explore and iron-on-vinyl. They say:

Mine – ‘I’m still waiting for my Hogwarts letter’

Hubby’s – ‘If you can read this my invisibility cloak isn’t working’

Little Miss’s – It’s leviOsa, not leviosA’

Cheeky Boy’s – ‘You must be a boggart because you look Riddikulus’

These were so fun to wear, all the cast members kept reading our shirts and laughing! The kids loved showing them off. I wished I’d made Disney ones too!

Harry Potter World lived up to my expectations, I loved the Hogwarts Express, the Escape from Gringotts, and the interactive wands especially. The ride in Hogwarts itself made me feel a bit sick though! I will do a post on Harry Potter World another day as I could say so much about it!

All in all, we had an amazing time. The kids will have so many fabulous memories…

Our Florida Holiday & A Crafty Giveaway!

And if they ever forget they can watch the movies I made. Thanks to Blogtacular and Xanthe Berkeley’s Video Workshop, I had learned the tricks to be able to record and edit daily videos using my iPhone and the Adobe Clip app. I saved videos that were 1 minute long, which I shared on Instagram and Facebook, and some that were longer (approx 5-8 minutes per day) which I am keeping for family memories. If you missed me sharing them on social media, you can watch the 1 minute long videos stitched together as one video (less than 15 minutes long) here:

Or click HERE to view in YouTube.I also enjoyed visits to Target, Michael’s, and Jo-Ann’s for buying some crafty supplies. I bought lots of bits and pieces, including a Marquee Love letter J, a D-Ring 12×12 album, some paper, material, paints, and more! I was in heaven.I wanted to spread the joy, so I bought some items for a giveaway for you! Here’s the items you could win:

Including some pencils, washi tape, twine, enamel dots, a ‘be creative’ wood plaque, and a cute little notebook – here’s a peek at the pages inside:

Frosty Festivities Christmas & Winter, Giveaways / Winners

The Winners From Frosty Festivities 2015!

Hello! Sorry this post is a day late, but when I said I’d post the winners yesterday I didn’t realise what a hectic week this would be. They are all ready to announce now though!

The Winners From Frosty Festivities 2015 at Jennifer Grace Creates

Before I announce them all I just want to say another big THANK YOU to everyone who attended the event. I am still reading through all the wonderful comments but I promise you I will read every single one, they are making me smile so much!

It was also FANTASTIC to see the projects entered into the ‘Challenge To Be Inspired’. Almost all the entries were pinned to my ‘Inspired by Jennifer Grace Creates’ Pinterest Board HERE if you want to take a quick look at what everyone was up to! There were just a few I couldn’t pin from Flickr for some reason – possibly a privacy setting.

I also want to say another thank you to sponsors, but I’ll tell you who won the prizes first, as I know you are waiting to find out!

The Winners Are…

The Grand Giveaway: Shelley (Who Said ‘What a fantastic giveaway. Your projects are great – a lovely showcase of the prize package goodies’)

Giveaway From Lettera Etc: Margot Mac G

Giveaway From The Paperdashery: Jacky S

Giveaway From Little Dorrit: Julene Matthews

The Blog Hop Giveaway: Fay

Giveaway From Feed Your Craft: K

Giveaway From SVG Files Shop: Leslie Smith

My Wish List Amazon Gift Card Giveaway: Diana Fernandez

The Challenge To Be Inspired Random Winner: Karen Ladd

The Challenge To Be Inspired MY CHOICE Winner: Lizzy Hill

Lizzy joined in lots during the event but it was this card, with teeny tiny mason jars, which totally stole my heart. What a unique spin on my Twine Wrapped Gift Jar post:

Congrats to all the winners! Please email me at jennifergrace@hotmail.co.uk with ‘Winner’ in the subject line. Just send me your email address for now and then I’ll let you know if I need your mailing address, or if I’m passing your details on to an Etsy owner for them to contact you directly!

I am so sorry that I couldn’t send prizes to everyone. I wish I could. There will be more giveaways coming at some point next year, though I haven’t decided if I’m going to run another event again. I’m still thinking about it. Life is a little chaotic lately and I don’t have as much time to prepare for them!

I just need to finish by saying one last thank you to the giveaway sponsors – please don’t forget to spend money in these shops next time you want some new stash, it’s a great way to say thank you and encourages them to sponsor more events (not just mine but giveaways in general!) in the future…

My Crafty Christmas Wish List 2015 – And A Giveaway! {NOW CLOSED}

(This post is part of my Frosty Festivities 2015 Blog Event – see a list of all the posts HERE)

As we’re getting close to the end of the event (tomorrow’s the last day), I thought we’d have one last giveaway {NOW CLOSED}. Today I’m going to share what I’ve got on my crafty Christmas wish list this year, and I’m giving away a £10 GBP Amazon Gift Voucher (or nearest equivalent in your local currency) to one winner, so they can put it towards something they’d like! If the winner doesn’t have Amazon in their country we’ll think of an alternative prize, but I think most of my readers do!

My husband asked me to make a wish list for him to choose something from for my Christmas present. I love it when he asks me to do that, as then I can browse and ‘window-shop’ lots of things I’d like, but it’s still a surprise as to which item he’ll choose to buy.

Here’s my Crafty Christmas Wish List 2015. The links go to Amazon UK but they are not affiliate links, I don’t have any connection with them, I just thought you might like to see more about the products. Amazon also have full release on anything to do with the giveaway – they are not involved at all.

1. ‘I Just Like To Make Things’ book by Lilla Rogers – I’ve been wanting to take Lilla Rogers Make Art That Sells Classes, about designing illustrations and patterns for scrapbooking, clothing and more. But they cost hundreds of pounds so are out of our price range right now. This book looks like it would be a nice taster of what the courses are about:

2. Cricut Faux Leather in Walnut – Cricut have recently added some more materials to their line-up, and this one excites me the most – faux leather in walnut woodgrain. It looks like a nice warm colour which I can imagine cutting embellishments and jewellery from using my Cricut Explore. You can see some items made with faux leather on the Cricut US blog HERE. I can’t wait to get my hands on some:

3. ‘Doodle Stitching, The Motif Collection’ book by Aimee Ray – As you can probably tell from the Little Dorrit Embroidery Patterns Giveaway, and my Embroidered Tags, I have been enjoying embroidery lately. This collection of ideas looks like it would be fun inspiration for a host of projects:

My Crafty Christmas Wish List at Jennifer Grace Creates

4. Pink Paislee Memorandum Gold Phrase Stickers – I want a lot of Pink Paislee’s Memorandum and Cedar Lane collections, but this is one of the bits I want the most. So shiny and fun, these would make any scrapbook page special:

My Crafty Christmas Wish List at Jennifer Grace Creates

5. ’20 Ways To Draw A Jellyfish (And 44 Other Amazing Sea Creatures’ book by Trina Daziel – As I’ve been wanting to practice my drawing for illustrating scrapbook items or for clothing design etc, the ’20 Ways To Draw’ books caught my eye – they have a variety of titles. This one is the one I want the most, because I live by the sea and love the beach:

6. DIY Wooden Clock Kit (19cm) – We need a new clock for our kitchen. We have needed one for years, but I’m fussy and can never find one I like. Then I had a brainwave moment when I was scrolling through more clocks online that I didn’t like the other day – why not just make our own? This kit looks good because it comes with the numbers pre-drawn, which would save a lot of ‘time’ with measuring it out:

My Crafty Christmas Wish List at Jennifer Grace Creates

7. Becky Higgins Blush 12×12 D Ring Album – Well really I just need more 12 x 12 albums in general, as I have too many pages to store. This one is particularly gorgeous, and on trend for 2016, when this blush-pink colour is supposed to be really popular according to trend forecasts. But I’ll settle for most 12 x 12 d-ring albums:

My Crafty Christmas Wish List at Jennifer Grace Creates

8. ‘Creative Lettering & Beyond’ book – Since writing my first post on brush lettering I  have discovered Dawn Nicole, a fabulous designer, who has a blog, and wrote a post recommending hand lettering books HERE. She also has a free facebook group with lessons and tips on hand lettering which you can join HERE. This is the book she recommends the most, and I have to agree it looks very helpful:

My Crafty Christmas Wish List at Jennifer Grace Creates

9. A T-Square – This is simply to make it faster for me to draw straight lines for my brush lettering:

10. A Minc Toner Pen – At the start of the year I bought a Minc Machine to do some foiling (see my original post about it HERE), but I haven’t used it nearly enough. Mostly because I don’t like being limited to the Heidi Swapp designed items, and I’ve found it difficult to get my printed items to look good – which I think is a problem with our laser printer rather than the Minc. When I saw they’d brought out a Minc pen I got quite excited – I would love to try this out:

My Crafty Christmas Wish List at Jennifer Grace Creates

My husband is spoilt for choice on what to get me, huh? I do have some non-crafty items on my wish list too, including a mini food processor so I can make hummus, and the game Rummikub which I could remember playing with my grandparents, but only recently discovered what it’s called!

Now for the giveaway:

My Crafty Christmas Wish List at Jennifer Grace Creates

One person will win a £10 GBP Amazon Gift Voucher, or closest equivalent in their local currency. If the winner doesn’t have Amazon in their country we’ll work out an alternative prize.

To enter to win: Just leave a comment telling me a crafty item or two that’s on your wish list this Christmas! What are you hoping Santa will bring you this year?

The giveaway {NOW CLOSED} closes at 10pm GMT on Sunday the 6th of December 2015. It is open internationally. The winner will be announced here on Thursday the 10th of December, so make sure you check back to see if you won.

I’ll be back tomorrow for the final Frosty Festivities post. See you then!

A Giveaway! Sponsored by Feed Your Craft! {NOW CLOSED}

(This post is part of my Frosty Festivities 2015 Blog Event – see a list of all the posts HERE)

It’s time for another sponsored giveaway {NOW CLOSED} from a fun-filled Etsy shop…

A Giveaway! Sponsored by Feed Your Craft!

Feed Your Craft is an Etsy Shop owned by the amazing Elise (aka Lil Gik), who I’ve known online for a while since we met on the Two Peas In A Bucket forums (I miss those!). The shop is filled with lots and lots of fun flair (105 different sets!), which are mini-flair – only 7/8″ in diameter. Plus there are a few other cute embellishments too – they’ll be releasing a limited edition ‘Let It Snow’ mini kit later today!

Read on for the chance to win a $15 coupon code to spend at the Feed Your Craft shop!

A Giveaway! Sponsored by Feed Your Craft!

Some of the flair sets are designed by Brandi Kincaid, and they have some lovely unique illustrations on them!

Here’s a few items that go well with the Frosty Festivities theme…

1. Let It Snow Full Colour Mini Flair Badges – This is one of the sets designed by Brandi, and the characters are just so adorable! Look at the little mouse with his ‘Baby it’s cold outside’ banner! The gingerbread house is perfect too, and this set is available in 3 different colourways (you can buy it without colour on the background – only the icons, or without any colour at all) so it can suit any project you are working on:

A Giveaway! Sponsored by Feed Your Craft!

2. Dear Santa Mini Flair Badges – The flair by Elise are perfect, I especially like the ‘Dear Santa, I can explain’ one as I’m sure I could use that on a layout about my cheeky children! The one with Santa’s belt on is fabulous and bold too. Plus I like the simple red & white colour scheme:

A Giveaway! Sponsored by Feed Your Craft!

3. Ring It In Mini Flair Badges – Here’s another set by Brandi which you can purchase in different colourways. This link is for the set without any colour at all, but you can check out the others! I like this set having no colour, as I’ve no idea what colours will be in the photos I’ll be taking on New Years Eve (we’re going to a friend’s house for a party this year), and this set would suit anything! I love the clock with ‘midnight’ squeezed inside:

A Giveaway! Sponsored by Feed Your Craft!

Wouldn’t they all be a great way to add a little ‘flair’ to your projects?!

Now for the giveaway…

Feed Your Craft Giveaway Prize for the Frosty Festivities Event

One person will win a $15 USD coupon code for the Feed Your Craft store! The winner must have a merchandise total of more than $16.50, this is because of Etsy terms for coupon codes.

To enter to win this prize {NOW CLOSED} you just need to visit the Feed Your Craft Etsy Shop, take a look around, and come back here to leave a comment telling me what caught your eye in the store! It doesn’t have to be Winter / Christmas related. Just find something you love and tell me about it!

You could also pop by Elise’s blog or her Instagram and thank her for sponsoring, and maybe give her a follow! This isn’t compulsory though.

The giveaway closes at 10pm GMT on Sunday the 6th of December 2015. {NOW CLOSED} It is open internationally. The winner will be announced here on Thursday the 10th of December, so make sure you check back to see if you won.

Good luck! I’ll be back tomorrow morning!

Announcement and Giveaway (NOW CLOSED)!

Hello everyone!

Today I want to tell you about a little event I’ll be holding at the end of June. Some of you may have seen my ‘word for the year’ – ORGANISE, which I blogged about in January hereAs it will soon be half way through the year, I thought I’d spend some time telling you about the things that are working for me so far.

So on Friday 29th June – Sunday 1st July I’ll be having an ‘Organisation Celebration’ here at Jennifer’s Jumbles. There will be posts every hour from 4pm-10pm Friday, and 10am-10pm Saturday and Sunday (BST), including a blog hop, tips, tutorials, challenges, crafts, and lots of GIVEAWAYS!

I really hope you’ll be able to join me for the weekend. The giveaways will stay open until Monday (2nd July 2012) at 11.59pm BST, so if you’re away for the weekend you’ll have Monday to try and catch up! One challenge will be open until the following Sunday (8th July 2012) too!
I’m really looking forward to it – hopefully you’ll learn some tips from me, and I’ll learn some things over the weekend to help me with my organisation for the rest of the year!

I’d like to let as many people as possible know about the weekend, so it would be great if you could let others know about it too. As encouragement, anyone who shares this post, and then lets me know they’ve done so via the Rafflecopter widget, will be entered into a draw to win this prize:

I bought this kit in the SJ Crafts online store – see more Echo Park for sale here!

There’s four ways for you to share – on your blog, twitter, facebook, or pinterest. Click on the Rafflecopter widget buttons so I can see which ones you’ve done (the twitter and facebook entries can be done via the widget, so you don’t even have to leave this page), and I’ll choose one winner at random from all entries, after the closing date at 12.01am EST on 23rd June.

Thanks so much for reading, I’ll look forward to seeing you here on the 29th of June!

You’re obviously welcome to leave a comment below, I’d love to hear whether you’re planning to pop by that weekend to see the event posts – but please be aware that commenting on this post does not enter you into the giveaway. Only sharing this post, and then clicking on the Rafflecopter widget to say you’ve done so will enter you.

But don’t worry, there will be plenty of comment-to-win and other giveaways during the ‘Organisation Celebration’ event! See you soon! x

Giveaway Winner!

Well, there was a total of 224 entries for my Sew Mama Sew Giveaway of vintage fabrics. Thanks so much to all who entered! And hello, and thank you, to new followers, it’s great to see you!

I read every comment, and I really enjoyed learning about all the crafts that people enjoy. Though I now want to try and convince all the non-scrapbookers how fantastic the hobby is! One thing that surprised me was a few people mentioning they don’t have the patience for scrapbooking – this is how I usually feel about sewing. I guess it’s all perspective!

So, I used Random.org to generate the winner:

And lucky commenter number 24 is:

Congratulations Marjorie, let me know your postal address and I’ll get the prize sent off to you, I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks to Sew Mama Sew for hosting the giveaway.
I’m off to the beach for the day with the kids, whilst hubby helps a friend to fit a new kitchen. I think he drew the short straw!

Giveaways / Winners

NOW CLOSED! Sew Mama Sew Giveaway!

Giveaway now closed – thanks to all entrants! The winner has been announced on another post, which can be found here.

Hello to any new readers, as well as my lovely regulars!

Today I’m joining in with the Sew Mama Sew biannual Giveaway, which will include hundreds of sewing & craft supplies or handmade items up for grabs (see here to check out the rest!). I’ve read other blogs taking part on previous occasions, but this is the first time I’m joining in with a Giveaway of my own.

I’ll fully admit that I’m more of a scrapbooker than a sewer these days, and that my sewing machine gets used more on paper than on fabric, but now and then I make a stitched project. And I still have lots of lovely materials stored from the days when I did more sewing, including the vintage fabrics included in the Giveaway.
My Mother used to use these fabrics to make quilted items when I was just a bouncing baby, and she gave me the left over pieces when she bought me a sewing machine for my 21st birthday. But that was 9 years ago, and I still have lots left, so here’s a chance for you to win some:

One winner will receive a Mini Jelly-Roll of vintage fabric strips, and five ⅞” fabric-covered buttons. PLEASE NOTE this is a Mini Jelly-Roll, not the ‘standard’ size. There are 20 fabrics strips included, 2 each of 10 coordinating patterns. Each strip measures at least 3″ x 20″. Some of the strips are slightly taller or wider, but they are all at least this size. And they have all been cut with pinking shears, by my Mother’s fair hand over 25 years ago (they’ve been stored carefully!).
Though the strips are smaller than the standard Jelly-Roll size, there’s still plenty you can do with them! This post at Tipnut has lots of great ideas for smaller projects, and it’s where I found a Frame Worthy Shot to make a bracelet, which I’ve made with one of the same strips of fabric:
So there’s one idea for the winner! I’ll even include a length of 1″ wide elastic in case the winner wants to make a bangle of their own straight away.
To enter the giveaway just leave a comment on this post – you can just say ‘Hi’ but I’d also love to know – are you someone who scrapbooks as well as sews, or sews as well as scrapbooking?
The giveaway is open until May 25th at 5pm PST, so please comment before this time. I will post the prize to anywhere in the world. And make sure you leave a way for me to contact you, if you’re not easily reached via a Google profile, in case you win and I need to let you know!
The winner will be chosen at random from all comments, and will be posted here by Sunday 27th May.
Thanks so much for visiting, I hope you have a great day! x
