Fancy Pants and Gossamer Blue have a Guest Designer Contest going on right now (see all the details here or here). As it was announced just after I’d bought myself some of the fabulous Fancy Pants Down By The Shore collection, I had to have a go! Here’s my entry…
I love this photo of my kids chilling on our favourite beach, and this colourful collection was just right to do it justice!
I used some of the rub-ons to make fishes swim over the sunshine in the top right corner:
The papers (from the 6×6 pad) below the photo are pop-dotted along the bottom edge of each sheet, and for one of the sheets I cut along the scallops to make it extra wavy:
I used one of the decorative bags to hide my journaling (I cut the bag off at the bottom, and stitched it closed at the base to make it a bit shorter), and I punched small and medium hearts from more of the 6×6 papers to sprinkle around the page:
I love this page, the colours are so fun, and it makes me feel like I’m right there at the beach again!
Of course I couldn’t stop once I started creating with this collection, so I made a couple of cards too…
Make A Big Splash:
The whales are so cute! I distressed the edges of the papers on here, and added the label sticker sentiment with pop-dots to help it stand out.
Though a lot of the collection is seaside-themed, I also like how a lot of the papers and embellies can be used for non-seaside summery project. This card is so relaxed and bright!
While you’re here – I want to point out my new Scrapbook Gallery and Cards & Crafts Gallery, which are pages you can get to from the menu at the top of my blog. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them and then scroll through them via the pop-up window if you want to, and in that pop-up there’s also a link below the project, to go to the blog post it featured in. So you can go and check if you missed anything! At the moment they are randomly sorted (not chronologically) but from now on all new projects will be added at the top.
What do you think of today’s projects? Have you been using any cute whales or summery icons lately?
Bye for now, Jennifer x
